The position will offer the opportunity to support the daily production activities at our high-speed aluminum packaging operation in Dayton, OH.  You will interact closely with all aspects of the manufacturing process from the raw material to the finished product. This is a hands-on position that may be required to cover a variety of duties and responsibilities in this continuous operation. 

This position is a managerial position, which would include the daily supervision of plant electricians and electronic technicians as well as the management of plant construction, modifications, appropriations and equipment installation.  This is an excellent opportunity to develop not only your technical abilities but also your managerial skills.

 

We are looking for individuals with a BS degree in Electrical Engineering and 2-5 years experience in a production or manufacturing setting, ideally in a high-speed metal forming operation.  Part of this experience also needs to involve management responsibilities.  This experience can either be from a full-time position or from a co-op and/or internship assignment(s). Experience in the following areas is required:

 

Computers as applied to industrial use
Basic motor controls, VFD’s. DC drives, Eddy Current systems,etc.
- PLC’s (Allen-Bradley), installation, set-up, and programming
- Process control systems function, set-up, programming, and functional applications.
- Printed circuit boards
- Instrumentation and calibration

Building facilities and services to include compressed air, water, hydraulics, vacuum, & heating/cooling

Facilities power distribution to include voltages to 600v, three phase.

Power transmission equipment such as gearboxes, drive trains, conveying equipment, etc.

Knowledge of  control systems and subsystems

Also required is a strong working knowledge of industrial electronics as well as Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing principles.  A Green or Black belt certification in Six Sigma is a plus.  We also are looking for individuals with proven mechanical skills, strong communication skills, both written and verbal and “team-player” skills. Time management and multi-project skills will also be key for this position.
