Responsibilities/Duties:

-     Drive results in Safety, Quality and Productivity through leadership and example.

-         Coordinates and supervises all activities of personnel within the facility with a focus on optimizing Safety, Quality, Productivity and Spoilage.

-          Oversees and leads the maintenance function and the processes of equipment productive, preventive and predictive maintenance.

-     Drive positive cultural change focusing on Safety, Quality and Productivity through setting the expectations and managing resources.

-         Applies knowledge of various management processes, production methods and processes.

-         Manages the processes of machinery set-up and adjustment to ensure compliance to standards.

-          Oversees the quality function and recommends modifications of existing quality or production standards to achieve optimal performance within the equipment capabilities.

-     Oversees the production planning function and manages the balance between inventory, cash flow and customer service.

-          Assures effective communication across all departments, personnel and shifts in regard to safety, equipment, production schedules, financial information, production problems or any other relevant information.

-          Works with employees on identifying and discussing solutions and implementing “fixes” on machinery and equipment issues.

-          Perform and facilitate “on the job training” and/or coaching of all employees as needed or required.

-     Lead and oversee the continuous improvement process through employee involvement, corrective action teams and project implementation.

-     Assures all safety, quality and process training is current with all employees.

-          Complete and/or administer all necessary documentation defined by the company

Background/Attributes/Competencies:

-     Demonstrated history of progressive professional growth and high performance achieving and exceeding measures, objectives and expectations.

-     10 to 15 years of relevant experience in a highly automated manufacturing operation (aluminum metal packaging background strongly preferred).  Preferably in a 24/7 continuous operation.

-     Bachelors degree required, preferably in a technical field.  Master’s degree a plus.

-     Demonstrated problem solving skills resulting in significant results in operational effectiveness.  And the ability to effectively solve problems both on an individual and collaborative basis.

-     Experience in implementing the Lean Manufacturing tools of Kaizen, 5S, TPM, SMED, required.  Knowledge of Six Sigma principles is a plus.

-     Experience in Preventive Maintenance, TPM and Predictive Maintenance.

-     Ability to convince people of the need to change. 

-     Personal knowledge of safety programs such as STOP/ STEP or Safe Start with demonstrated results.

-     Proven ability to communicate effectively throughout the organization from the workforce through senior management.

-     Strong PC skills and working knowledge of various Windows programs (Excel, Access, etc.).

-     Effective leadership skills such as conflict resolution, communication, decision making, etc.

-     Proven ability to prioritize effectively and demonstrated time management skills.

-     Demonstrated experience in managing an automated facility of electromechanical equipment.

-     The ability to know when to assume the responsibility and when to delegate.

-     Strong commitment to quality and safety.

-     Ability to travel on company business. 

-     Willingness to relocate if career opportunities arise.

-     Commitment to ongoing personal training and development.
