Responsibilities and position guidelines include;

As a key member of the Sales team in our North America Beverage Can Division, the Regional Sales Manager will be tasked with sales responsibility for the Western Region. Reporting to the Regional Vice President of Sales, this position will be accountable for all aspects of business with our key customers. We are seeking a high-potential employee with the ability and desire to advance within the organization. Specifics will include the following:

  • Contract negotiation
  • Contract administration
  • Demand forecasting
  • Account receivables
  • Innovation or new product introduction
  • Problem solving and avoidance
  • General account management on a daily basis
  • Management of a regional technical staff

Specific qualifications required for success in this position include;

  • BA/BS preferably in the majors of Business, Packaging or Engineering. Masters Degree a plus
  • 7+ years account management experience in the Packaging Industry (Specific Beverage Packaging Industry experience is highly desired)
  • Demonstrated success in profit improvement, cash flow management, increased Return on Invested Capital
  • Candidate must have experience managing National Accounts and a proven track record in development of profitable new business
  • Proven ability to function effectively in a team environment
  • Experience working with all levels of an organization, including engineering, operations, R&D, quality, purchasing, and senior management
  • Strong negotiation skills and understanding of contracts and commodities
  • Strong communication and presentation skills are a must
  • Candidate must be self-motivated and have the ability to take initiative
  • Solid presentation skills
  • While being customer focused, the candidate must also be a sound businessperson with a clear understanding of our company's financial demands/resources
  • Strong computer skills required. Ability to use Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel and Word. Access a plus
  • Organized and detail oriented
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively manage multiple projects to completion
  • Willing and able to relocate if required
  • Travel 50-60%
