Department Supervisor
The Supervisor will have total plant responsibility for the safe and efficient utilization of personnel, machinery and materials, to produce quality aerosol cans on the assigned shift. As a key member of the management team, the Supervisor will ensure good work attitudes and effective communication to maximize productivity in a high volume manufacturing environment.
Key Duties:
- Manage a safe, efficient & productive operation while meeting/ exceeding production goals.
- Direct a team of 25-30 employees through active leadership, extensive floor presence, coaching, mentoring, continuous improvement initiatives, support and follow-up.
- Coordinate closely with quality personnel to ensure that product quality is maintained and meets or exceeds customer specifications.
- Lead teams and productivity initiatives for department scrap reduction, output improvements, and downtime reduction. Utilize Lean, 5S, Six Sigma and other appropriate productivity tools to accomplish these initiatives.
- Communicate all pertinent information between departments and shifts on safety issues, changes to equipment, production schedules, and quality concerns.
- Review, analyze and act to correct non-conformance in the areas of safety, quality, policies and procedures
- Perform and facilitate “on the job training” and/or coaching of employees as needed. |

Job Requirements

- Bachelors in Business/Engineering or related field and 2 yrs. Supervisory experience preferred.
- Strong commitment to safety
- Outstanding leadership and project management skills with ability to follow through on assignments with little or no supervision.
- Must possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills with ability to coach and motivate employees.
- Knowledge of and experience with Lean, 5S and Six Sigma. Proven track record of applying knowledge of these tools in a manufacturing environment.
- Proficient computer skills to include MS Word, Excel, Outlook, Access and Power Point.
- Ability to work flexible shifts, weekends and overtime as needed.
